Superman and Lois Lane Join The CW’s Superhero Crossover

The CW has announced that Superman and Lois Lane will both be appearing in December’s superhero crossover event.

Tyler Hoechlin will return as the Man of Steel, but he won’t be alone this time, as Lois Lane will be joining him on this trip from Metropolis to National City.

“We couldn’t be more excited to introduce Lois Lane to the Arrowverse,” Supergirl executive producers Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner said in a statement. “This dogged, determined and brave reporter will make for a strong partner to Superman and amazing addition to our universe of DC characters.”

While casting for the role of Lois Lane hasn’t begun yet, the Daily Planet’s intrepid reporter has been mentioned on “Supergirl” many times over the past three seasons, with her sister Lucy spending time with Kara and friends in Season 2.

The special 3-night crossover event will begin in “The Flash” on Sunday, December 9 at 8.00pm ET, and then continue in “Arrow” on Monday, December 10 at 8.00pm ET, and will conclude with “Supergirl” on Tuesday, December 11 at 8.00pm ET.

Well this is most exciting! I hope that the audience responds well enough to make some kind of further project(s) worthwhile to WB/CW/DC.

I agree afriend. They got a good thing going with Tyler’s Superman. I hope that at the very least that they expand his guest appearances for the other shows every season. Two or three episodes for the other shows, I believe is reasonable. 3 for Supergirl, 2 for the Flash, 3 for legends, 2 for arrow, and 3 for Black Lightning. Adding it all up thats 13 episodes of Superman guest appearances a year. And add in crossovers that could be 17 episodes. I can’t wait to see this crossover event. You can stop spamming threads is what you can do. Negatives on comments can be annoying, absolutely, but they’re not physically harmful and spamming a thread certainly isn’t going to solve anything. I imagine it only continues because it gets a reaction from you.

Just post like a normal person (read: no spamming) and eventually whoever it is will get bored and move along.

Like I said before, I will try and ignore this person. But for the record, I didn’t start this.
I appreciate the advice, its just that this has been going on for months even when I had ignored this person. Its just irritating is all. I only respond because it irritates me sometimes, but I can see how others might get irritated by responses to this person. And I’m sorry about that. I have never found your posts annoying. I have found that you post multiple times, one after the other, but after initially experiencing this of you, I just got used to it and accepted it as your style. 🙂

So is this an indication that they’re not moving forward with Superman cinematically? I also just read that Hans zimmer is going to score WW84. That bums me out because I wanted him to score another Superman film. I’m glad Wonder Woman is getting love, but Wb/dc could have had the same success with Superman. Just sayin.

I had a thought. Could it be that every year they take turns for Hoechlin’s and Cavill’s Superman? I mean think about it. Last year we had Cavill but no Hoechlin. This year so far it looks to be Hoechlin but no sign of a Cavill movie yet. Maybe they’re saving him for a movie next year? Then the year after, it could be Hoechlin again. It’s just a theory.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, Sundevil82. It’s always great to see Superman on television, especially with Lois. But the Warner powers that be aren’t usually this generous with a movie character. I hope I’m wrong, but I fear this signals no Superman movies in the foreseeable future.

Last I saw they were in tough negotiations with Henry over salary, but I’ve heard nothing since. They should really capitalize on his success with MI: Fallout. I want him and McQuarrie to be announced as the MOS2 team, but now they’re are rumors that McQuarrie and Tom cruise are doing green lantern corps.

Doubt this would happen but it would be mighty intriguing to have a scene involving the new Lois Lane with Kara’s mother, who is now played by Smallville’s Lois Lane, Erica Durance.

Yup. I feel Erica and Teri Hatcher have been the best live action Lois Lane’s we’ve ever had. Neither was in a particularly great show, but they both captured the spirit of the character along with (at least for me) looking like what I imagined the character to look like.

Thank you to those who are in charge of the CW shows that made Superman’s return possible. And Thank you for introducing Lois Lane this year as well. I am looking forward to seeing this new interpretation of the Daily Planet’s top ace reporter. I also would like to thank the fans as well. Our voices that supported Tyler Hoechlin in the role of Superman, I believe helped in his return. To all of my fellow Superman fans, thank you. Our fandom for superman brought him back.

I’m happy that some of you are excited for this. BUT..for myself, I’m on the fence. The way they totally miss-handled Superman the last time he was on doesn’t make me anything but cautious. And bringing in Lois is another wait and see. Some will disagree with me and I’m not in any way trying to offend……but I for one am sick and tied of Supergirl being directed into a female empowerment show. I’m sure Grant Gustin will geek-out behind the scenes when filming these episodes with Tyler as Superman. And since Grant is a big fan of Superman as a character, I wonder if he will bring out a little bit of that “geek-out-mode” when he’s in character as The Flash. I just can’t wait for this 3-part-story.

I don’t know about that. I remember The Flash singing to Supergirl (in that 2-parter with Supergirl and The Flash) and saying, “I gotta say I’m not impressed by your more famous cousin.” Kara thanked him. Barry mocked him in stance and walking. And I, just laughed. 😀

I’m totally fine with it. I am actually surprised it has taken this long for Lois to be on th4e show. I figured that if they were going to officially have Superman in season 2, I figured they would have a Lois Lane show up at some point. I guess now, or should I say, this coming December, is that point. So, yeah, I am totally for having Lois Lane show up. I guess it’s like that scene where Supergirl tells some people an embarrassing story about changing Superman when he was a baby, to which Superman says “I don’t think we have to tell them that.” And she responds with” yeah, I kind do.” I think it’s something every family dose for a little laugh, but it shows the family bond between these two. And I’m so looking forward to seeing Superman and Supergirl hang out again soon.

I think Tyler Hoechlin did a good job as Superman, but, man, I do hope they redesign the outfit. I know I may be in the minority with this opinion, but it’s funny how they got Supergirl’s outfit so right, but Superman’s so wrong. Making the boots less bulky, lowering the belt, and tucking the cape into the collar would be most welcome.

I’d be much more interested in this scenario if the ‘Supergirl’ show hadn’t castrated Superman by insisting he is only a second rate version of her! The “Supergirl is stronger than Superman” storyline at the end of season 2 was and is pure crap! It’s hard to care about this show anymore when they abuse the legacy of the character that is responsible for the existence of Supergirl. I can’t bring myself to watch this show now and I’m surprised and saddened that mistreating the character of Superman hasn’t generated more vitriolic feedback. A simple solution to this would have been for the producers to set the show during the time of Superman’s death. That gives her a logical reason for having to rise up and become ‘earths greatest hero’ Instead of having to use Superman as a stepping stone to put her over. The route they took, avoiding showing him in the first season and beating him up to show her prowess in the second still makes absolutely no sense to me. Yep…..right on the money stevenx! None of what they did made ANY sense. But you can bet they did it to prop up the movement in the industry that has been ALL about female empowerment. The CW is pretty much devoted all of it’s shows to this angle. But in all fairness the main channels and their shows are doing it as well. Men are now being used as puppets to support this cause. spidey……with all due respect. There is NO amount of added material that would change the horrended-ness that this movie is. Other than Slater looking good in the costume(should be worn on our Supergirl), there is nothing that could improve it. It IS that bad.

If I remember correctly, I believe the leading actor from Max Headroom played a thug who made the mistake of bothering Supergirl. Of coarse I only saw this scene like 25 years ago, so I’m not sure if that’s accurate. It’s been a long time.
