The CW has announced that Superman and Lois Lane will both be appearing in December’s superhero crossover event.
Tyler Hoechlin will return as the Man of Steel, but he won’t be alone this time, as Lois Lane will be joining him on this trip from Metropolis to National City.
“We couldn’t be more excited to introduce Lois Lane to the Arrowverse,” Supergirl executive producers Jessica Queller and Robert Rovner said in a statement. “This dogged, determined and brave reporter will make for a strong partner to Superman and amazing addition to our universe of DC characters.”
While casting for the role of Lois Lane hasn’t begun yet, the Daily Planet’s intrepid reporter has been mentioned on “Supergirl” many times over the past three seasons, with her sister Lucy spending time with Kara and friends in Season 2.
The special 3-night crossover event will begin in “The Flash” on Sunday, December 9 at 8.00pm ET, and then continue in “Arrow” on Monday, December 10 at 8.00pm ET, and will conclude with “Supergirl” on Tuesday, December 11 at 8.00pm ET.
Well this is most exciting! I hope that the audience responds well enough to make some kind of further project(s) worthwhile to WB/CW/DC.
I agree afriend. They got a good thing going with Tyler’s Superman. I hope that at the very least that they expand his guest appearances for the other shows every season. Two or three episodes for the other shows, I believe is reasonable. 3 for Supergirl, 2 for the Flash, 3 for legends, 2 for arrow, and 3 for Black Lightning. You can stop spamming threads is what you can do. Negatives on comments can be annoying, absolutely, but they’re not physically harmful and spamming a thread certainly isn’t going to solve anything. I imagine it only continues because it gets a reaction from you.
Just post like a normal person (read: no spamming) and eventually whoever it is will get bored and move along.

I had a thought. Could it be that every year they take turns for Hoechlin’s and Cavill’s Superman? I mean think about it. Last year we had Cavill but no Hoechlin. This year so far it looks to be Hoechlin but no sign of a Cavill movie yet. Maybe they’re saving him for a movie next year? Then the year after, it could be Hoechlin again. It’s just a theory.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, Sundevil82. It’s always great to see Superman on television, especially with Lois. But the Warner powers that be aren’t usually this generous with a movie character. I hope I’m wrong, but I fear this signals no Superman movies in the foreseeable future.
Last I saw they were in tough negotiations with Henry over salary, but I’ve heard nothing since. They should really capitalize on his success with MI: Fallout. I want him and McQuarrie to be announced as the MOS2 team, but now they’re are rumors that McQuarrie and Tom cruise are doing green lantern corps.

Yup. I feel Erica and Teri Hatcher have been the best live action Lois Lane’s we’ve ever had. Neither was in a particularly great show, but they both captured the spirit of the character along with (at least for me) looking like what I imagined the character to look like.

I’m happy that some of you are excited for this. BUT..for myself, I’m on the fence. The way they totally miss-handled Superman the last time he was on doesn’t make me anything but cautious. I’m sure Grant Gustin will geek-out behind the scenes when filming these episodes with Tyler as Superman. And since Grant is a big fan of Superman as a character, I wonder if he will bring out a little bit of that “geek-out-mode” when he’s in character as The Flash. I guess it’s like that scene where Supergirl tells some people an embarrassing story about changing Superman when he was a baby, to which Superman says “I don’t think we have to tell them that.” And she responds with” yeah, I kind do.” I think it’s something every family dose for a little laugh, but it shows the family bond between these two. I think Tyler Hoechlin did a good job as Superman, but, man, I do hope they redesign the outfit. I know I may be in the minority with this opinion, but it’s funny how they got Supergirl’s outfit so right, but Superman’s so wrong. Making the boots less bulky, lowering the belt, and tucking the cape into the collar would be most welcome.

I’d be much more interested in this scenario if the ‘Supergirl’ show hadn’t castrated Superman by insisting he is only a second rate version of her! The “Supergirl is stronger than Superman” storyline at the end of season 2 was and is pure crap! It’s hard to care about this show anymore when they abuse the legacy of the character that is responsible for the existence of Supergirl. A simple solution to this would have been for the producers to set the show during the time of Superman’s death. That gives her a logical reason for having to rise up and become ‘earths greatest hero’ Instead of having to use Superman as a stepping stone to put her over. The route they took, avoiding showing him in the first season and beating him up to show her prowess in the second still makes absolutely no sense to me. Yep…..right on the money stevenx! None of what they did made ANY sense. But you can bet they did it to prop up the movement in the industry that has been ALL about female empowerment. The CW is pretty much devoted all of it’s shows to this angle. But in all fairness the main channels and their shows are doing it as well. Men are now being used as puppets to support this cause. spidey……with all due respect. There is NO amount of added material that would change the horrended-ness that this movie is. Other than Slater looking good in the costume(should be worn on our Supergirl), there is nothing that could improve it. It IS that bad.
