SUPERMAN: 80 YEARS OF TRUTH, JUSTICE AND HOPE AT SXSW 2018

DC and Warner Bros. Television Group (WBTVG) bring the biggest names in comics to SXSW to talk 80 years of Superman, Action Comics #1000 and Krypton

All-Star Writers and Artists Jim Lee, Frank Miller, Dan Jurgens and Brian Michael Bendis Join the Creative Team Behind SYFY’s Upcoming Krypton Series at an Exclusive SXSW Panel at DC’s Pop-Up and Super Hero Experience

The first-ever DC Pop-Up and Super Hero Experience at SXSW sets the stage for an exclusive conversation showcasing Superman’s enduring impact on popular culture, coinciding with the 1000th issue of ACTION COMICS and the upcoming premiere of Krypton on SYFY. Comic book legend Frank Miller (SUPERMAN: YEAR ONE), award-winning writer and artist Dan Jurgens (THE DEATH OF SUPERMAN, ACTION COMICS), acclaimed artist and DC Publisher Jim Lee (SUPERMAN UNCHAINED) and the newest writer to join the DC roster, Brian Michael Bendis (ACTION COMICS #1000, MAN OF STEEL), were joined by the executive producer of the upcoming SYFY series Krypton, Cameron Welsh, and Krypton writers Lina Patel and Nadria Tucker.

Moderated by IGN Executive Editor Laura Prudom, the conversation also covered SYFY’s upcoming Superman special, Krypton: The Making of a Legend, celebrating the forthcoming series and the enduring legacy of Superman.

Fans will soon be able to catch a video of the panel at DC’s Pop-Up and Super Hero Experience located at 717 Red River St. in Austin throughout the rest of SXSW. DC’s Pop-Up and Experience will be open March 9–18, from 12:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m. daily and can be found at 717 Red River Street, Austin, Texas.

Sorry but I cannot jibe the idea of truth, justice, and hope with anything Frank Miller has ever done with Superman.

I completely agree (see my comment). He should not have been there. Where was Jerry Ordway, Louise Simonson, Marv Wolfman? Hell, even Joe Kelly and J Michael Straczynski at least tried their best!

What the hell is Frank Miller doing there? I know he’s writing a new Superman Year One, but he not only hasn’t contributed to the 80 years of Superman but has actually detracted. He has said that he doesn’t get Superman, which is clear from DKR and DK2.

Don’t forget All Star B&R. I have no trouble beveling Frank doesn’t get Superman at all and although I’m sure this will be blasphemy to some, I don’t think he gets Batman either. But the damage wrought to Superman was far worse.

So, all of this is just plain, simple “Lip Service” from F.M. I really hope not since Superman is owed some payback from the Dark Knight etc..

That whold Batman is relatable and Superman is not is total garbage.. To bad you can’t as ask some of these people which abbilty would you like Superman.

Glad to see Frank Miller there (with his usual quirky sense of humour). Can’t wait to read Superman Year One. It’s gonna be badass

I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or not.
