“Superman #34” Variant Cover to Celebrate 800th Adventure

While the “Superman” comic book title returned to #1 with the start of the “New 52” era in 2011, the title itself is actually set to reach its 800th issue since first being published in 1939.

While there’s some suggestion that titles like “Superman”, “Wonder Woman” and others may return to their legacy numbering some time in the future, DC Comics is celebrating anniversary numbering for these titles in the coming months, with variant covers featuring artwork by Tony S. Daniel.

Shown here is the variant cover for “Superman #34”, which is earmarked as the title’s 800th adventure, and is scheduled to be published on November 1.

I agree with you on the fault in the Superman Returns suit 100%. They tried to do too much with it, and they really didn’t need to!

As for the new look in the comics, I too do not understand the thinking behind the floating belt buckle and the insistence of the same shape as an \S/ symbol. I think that if they made the belt a little more thicker, it would work a whole lot better!
