Superman #17 Removed From “Year of the Villain”

Newsarama reports that the original “Year of the Villain” tie-in cover from Ivan Reis and Joe Prada for Superman #17 will now be withdrawn, and a new cover offered in its place. The above picture is the former cover.

Though a new cover has not been released yet, here is the new solicitation/summary:

Superman’s new Fortress of Solitude sits in the most remote corner of the Bermuda Triangle. Constructed using Kryptonian technology far beyond anything our world knows, filled with intergalactic, pan-dimensional secrets from all over the Multiverse…how could it possibly be missing?

Little behind on my Superman reading, so not up to date on what is going on in Superman currently, but most of the time, what is on the cover is not what happens in the comic, but some times, some time they do happen, and maybe this was one of those times, and rather than have backlash from fans and reader, maybe DC said no change the story, but who know without DC giving a reason why they decided to pull the cover and change it, we could go on forever with what ifs or why they did it.
