DC Studios has scheduled “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” to be released on June 26, 2026.

Following on after 2025’s “Superman”, “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” will also be released in IMAX, and will be directed by Craig Gillespie, best known for films such as “Cruella” and “I, Tonya”.

The script for “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” is written by Ana Nogueira, which is inspired by the Tom King run of comics of the same name. Back in January 2023, James Gunn said in a video announcement, “Superman is a guy sent to Earth and raised by loving parents, where Supergirl in this story, she is a character raised on a chunk of Krypton. She watched everybody around her perish in some terrible way, so she’s a much more jaded character.”

Milly Alcock, who has already been cast in the lead role, will reportedly first appear in 2025’s “Superman” before starring in “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow”.

Production on “Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow” will reportedly start in late 2024/early 2025.
