While I am a fan of Supergirl, I can see why there isn’t a big hype to see the final season as compared to the first season of Superman and Lois. Superman on televison is something that a lot of fans wanted to see for a long time now. He’s the original superhero. Supergirl while having almost six seasons so far, can only have her cousin show up so many times before the fans really start to complain about him not having his own show. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy seeing Supergirl’s show, I’m just giving a possible… Read more »
As far as Superman showing up on her show. I’d say that in it itself, wasn’t the overwhelming concern. It was what they did with him.
True that Tyler’s Superman has had some problems on Supergirl’s show and in the crossovers as well, but that was not Tyler’s fault. That was the writers fault and the script that they gave him caused a lot of issues. In fact Tyler’s Superman did really well in the first two episodes of season 2 of Supergirl and in the the first episode of the Elseworlds crossover. I’m in the “definitely not” group, though the exclamation mark seems a little excessive; not because I don’t loathe Supergirl (I do), but mainly because it’s par for the course for the CW DCTV shows, maybe with the exception of Superman & Lois (jury is still out on that). The whole line-up needs to be erased from history as far as I’m concerned, that one show isn’t the biggest problem for me, but I don’t care to watch it either.
True to the max. But I think this is what happens when TV series takes “big screen” characters and scales them down for TV. Unfortunately they’ve taken today’s social problems, and wove them into story lines that are for the sake of pushing social agendas, turned into endless reflections of what’s wrong in society.
Since I’ve watched this show from day one and tortured myself with each season becoming less superhero orientated, and more pandering today’s social insecurities, I’ll probably finish it off while mentally justifying it as getting over a bad habit.
I love Superman and Lois. Supergirl was way too PC and left for me the first couple of episodes of Supergirl was great but then it started turning far left. That’s why I love Superman and Lois it’s just a great show It’s not political and that’s so great.
Let’s hope it stays that way.
