Australian actress continues her meteoric rise with recognition ahead of Supergirl debut
Milly Alcock will be honored with the Rising Star Award at the 2026 G’Day USA Arts Gala on February 26 at The Lot at Formosa in Hollywood.
The 25-year-old actress, who broke out as young Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen in HBO’s “House of the Dragon,” has quickly become one of Hollywood’s most exciting talents. Her Critics’ Choice Award-nominated performance in the “Game of Thrones” prequel caught the attention of DC Studios head James Gunn, who cast her as Supergirl in his rebooted DC Universe.
Alcock’s “Supergirl,” directed by Craig Gillespie, is set to premiere June 26, 2026. She was also recently seen starring opposite Julianne Moore in Netflix’s limited series “Sirens.”
The gala, hosted by comedian Monty Franklin, will also honor actress Yvonne Strahovski and Olympic legend Ian Thorpe. Australian artists including Boy Soda, Thelma Plum, Gordi, and Vanessa Amorosi will perform at the black-tie event, which raises funds for emerging American and Australian artists through the American Australian Association’s Arts Fund.
