“Supergirl” Season 6 So Far – Poll Results

In the latest Superman Homepage Member Poll we asked you the following question:

Are you enjoying the current season of “Supergirl” so far?

Nearly half of you aren’t even bothering to watch “Supergirl” on TV. Of those who do, it’s an even split on whether you’re enjoying it or not. It seems the sixth and final season hasn’t really won over fans with the “Stuck in the Phantom Zone” story to date. I wasn’t impressed with the first half of this season. I just feel that Supergirl should’ve gotten more screen time. Instead (in my opinion), the majority of screen time is given to her co-superheroes making it so that Supergirl is barely in the first half of her final season. I just feel that giving supporting characters more screen time than the main protagonist and star of the show just isn’t right. The series is called Supergirl, not Supergirl’s friends. I wanted to see more episodes about Supergirl saving the day. Not more episodes of her friends trying to save her.… Read more »

I agree with you, that’s a strange direction they are going.

It also makes me compare it to Superman and Lois and look at what they are doing on their show, and I just think that Superman doesn’t need a team of superheroes like the Flash, Supergirl, Arrow, Black Lightning, and legends of Tomarrow has. He already has his family. And in a sense that’s his team. I’m not closed to the idea of other superheroes showing up for an episode or two but Superman is a strong enough character that he doesn’t need a superhero support team for backup.

Yea but lets not forget, Supergirl has been going on 6 seasons. They progressively turned into dramas. Most TV shows by the time they’re at the 5 year mark, resemble nothing like how they started. As much as what the show has morphed into, I will finish it out, out of respect for the character and what it stated as. IMO, there have been too many real world occurrences that have made their way into this series, and adapted story lines used to parallel outside real word environments that are on going this very day. I’m sick and tired of… Read more »

I agree that Supergirl’s show has dropped in its story since after season 3. The brain washing virtual reality plot they had last season I really wasn’t interested in. Also the story and plot of Martian Manhunter’s brother from the previous season really didn’t interest me. In my opinion the introduction of Lex was good for a few episodes but I don’t think he should’ve been the main antagonist for the series. He should’ve only been used for a few episodes of Supergirl in my opinion. At first I thought Cryer’s Lex should’ve been saved for Superman and Lois but… Read more »

I had them all recorded in case I changed my mind. I erased them all the other night. Seeing what the CW has done to all their once superhero shows, has left me cold in every way. Times are a-changen and I simply can’t relate to any of their themes that, IMO are part of the entire polluted entertainment industry. There’s a certain “themed” format on all their shows and it doesn’t do me any good to sit their watching forced, pandering and in some cases (IMO), sickening over rated, sloppy weekly episodes that ALL have versions of the same… Read more »

I see. Just wondering. I admit that there are some shows that are not as important to me as they once were. Legends for example. Ever since Brandon left I’ve been asking myself “ why am I still watching this if Brandon isn’t even in it anymore?” I think it’s mostly to see where they’re going at the end of the season at this point. The Flash I still like but it has flaws. Batwoman…. eh for now I’ll watch it. I’m not heavily invested in it though. I did like the first season of Stargirl, so I’m looking forward… Read more »

Yes……you’re correct!!! I’ve stuck with LoT and I ask myself the same question, “why am I watching this”. The direction and quality of that show has taken an atomic dump! When BR first joined the LoT, it was pretty good! But it’s progressively gotten worse. This season I’ve seen the Flash as well, story wise, go south. Can they make Barry any more of a wimp?? Sickening. I will admit, Stargirl was good and it progressed better than what I thought it was going to. We’ll have to see if season 2 can from a quality stand point, match 1.… Read more »

I think I remember hearing something about Superman and Lois breaking some kind of record for their series premiere. I think it had to do with DVR recordings but I’m not sure. The production of it is of a higher quality. I’m pretty sure HBOmax has something to do with its production. If they ever decide to move it to HBOmax, I will surely follow the series there. I’d say it’s probably the best made show currently running on the CW. In my honest opinion, I believe it’s probably one of the best if not the best Superman television series… Read more »
