“Supergirl” Season 3 – Reign, Legion Ring and Cat Grant

Now that Season 2 of “Supergirl” has concluded, fans are turning their attention ahead to Season 3, wondering what will happen to Mon-El, who the main villain will be, and whether Cat Grant will hang around. TVline.com has some answers…

When asked about the Legion ring that was shown in Superman’s Fortress of Solitude in the episode that Kevin Smith directed, Melissa Benoist said, “The Legion Ring, I believe, is on its way – but I don’t know exactly when.”

As for whether Cat Grant will be hanging around, seeing as how she seemed to take ownership of her old office at CatCo in the final two episodes of Season 2…

“Despite the fact that Flockhart was listed among the series regulars in Supergirl‘s official Season 3 press release, I’m told she will not rejoin the full-time ranks. But if the scheduling can be worked out, you can count on her putting in a handful of guest appearances, as she did in Season 2.”

While we know Lena Luthor will be around more in Season 3, the villain for next season has been revealed to be “Reign”, with casting underway to find the right person for the role.

At the end of the Season 2 finale we were shown a flashback to Krypton 35 years earlier, where we saw a group of hooded Kryptonians sending another space pod off towards Earth ahead of Krypton’s desctruction. Apparently Reign is the young female Kryptonian placed in that escape pod.

But who is Reign? In the New 52 era of the “Supergirl” comic book, Reign was know as a Worldkiller, a being created by a group of rogue Kryptonian scientists. Reign and her fellow Worldkillers became enemies of Supergirl when they attempted to conquer Earth. Reign first appeared in Supergirl #5 (2012).

I just have to ask this so that others might think about it too. My question is, with Reign being the villain for next season, will the worldkillers show up too? I guess we will have to wait and see.
