“Supergirl” S06E08 “Welcome Back, Kara!” Description

The CW has released the official description for the 8th episode of the 6th and final season of “Supergirl”.

Titled “Welcome Back, Kara!” this episode is scheduled to air on The CW in the USA on Tuesday, August 24 at 9.00pm ET/PT.

SUPER FRIENDS REUNITED!

As Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and Zor-El (guest star Jason Behr) make their return to National City, they are determined to keep the Phantom Zone behind them and enjoy being superheroes together. Unfortunately, their overzealous efforts backfire, creating a whole new threat to National City.

The episode was directed by Armen V. Kevorkian and written by Dana Horgan & Jay Faerber.

So what are they going to call Supergirl’s dad for his superhero identity? They can’t use Superman, that name’s taken. Why do I get the feeling since they won’t be able to use Superman anymore to play second fiddle to Supergirl, they will use Kara’s dad instead?

Seeing from what this show started out as to what it’s become, there’s almost nothing that should surprise anyone that’s followed it. I’m finishing this series for reasons I can hardly explain or put in any cohesive context. It just may be that when you take big screen characters and scale them down to a weekly TV series, keeping story lines relevant to the character gets more difficult as the seasons go by. Especially when money is short.

I compare Supergirl to Superman and Lois, and while I do enjoy Supergirl, the quality of her show is nowhere near as good as Superman and Lois. I can think of a few theories as of why that’s the case. The first reason that comes to mind is the fact that Superman and Lois had taken longer to make for their first season. It would have premiered last fall if it hadn’t been to Covid concerns. My guess is that they took some of that extra time to work out any flaws in the writing before they starting filming back… Read more »
