“Supergirl” Casts Young Kara and Alex for Flashback Episode

Entertainment Weekly reports that Izabela Vidovic has been cast to play the role of teenage Kara for Season 3 of “Supergirl”.

Episode six of Season 3 will be titled “Midvale” and will find the Danvers sisters taking a road trip to their childhood town, where they relive a murder mystery from high school that shaped their relationship as we know it.

“You’ll get to see, through the way they interact, how their relationship started when Kara first came to Earth, how it grew, how it became so close and why they’re so close nowadays,” Melissa Benoist tells EW.

Reports are that Olivia Nikkanen (Boardwalk Empire, The Americans) will play the other half of the teenage duo, playing the younger version of Alex Danvers.

“Supergirl” Season 3 premieres on Monday, October 9, at 8.00pm on The CW.

It will be interesting to see more of the family history of Kara and Alex. We haven’t seen any of their memories since season one. I wonder if Superman will make an appearance . If so, will we see how he met Jeremiah Danvers and how they became friends?

In my opinion having flashback episodes only strengthens the characters of the show. It can’t only be about how many times they fight a villain leaving mindless destruction. As for special effects, I think they are doing quite well for a tv series.
