Steven Spielberg Meets With WB Bosses Fueling Superman Rumors

Director Steven Spielberg has reportedly met with Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav, fueling rumors that the pair were discussing the next Superman movie.

The Hollywood Reporter’s Heat Vision newsletter, Spielberg and Zaslav recently met over lunch, with Christopher Nolan and DC Studios’ co-CEO Peter Safran also eventually joining the meeting.

“On Wednesday, Warner Bros. Discovery chief David Zaslav and Steven Spielberg were having lunch at Warner Bros. commissary. Not a bad power lunch, right?” Reads the newsletter. “But then, Christopher Nolan, eating nearby, comes over to hang after his lunch wrapped. AND THEN, new co-head of DC Studios Peter Safran walked in and got to meet the whole gang. (If only our mic in the Cobb salad hadn’t shorted out!)”

While only the four men involved in the meeting know for sure what was discussed, the fact that they met has lead to much speculation, especially when it comes to Spielberg possibly helming a Henry Cavill Superman film.

UPDATE: It has been confirmed that Spielberg will direct a “Blackhawk” film for Warner Bros. Not Superman.

It would be so awesome if Steven Spielberg directs the next Superman film. I think he would make it be incredibly epic.

If Black Adam can’t bring in big money, how in the world do they think “Blackhawk” will? Amazing. They have to realize that Spielberg doing a Superman movie would be the best idea on so many levels. It could possibly be the biggest-selling movie of all time and the best Superman movie of all time. I know that’s a lot to say all at once, but with his name combined with Superman, people… Read more »
