Spoiler Details for “Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons” Animated Movie

We now also know that Starro the Conqueror will play a major role in the upcoming movie. The Injury Detail outlined in the release specifies: “There is occasional bloody detail, including a slow-motion blood spurt in the aftermath of a punch. Alien starfish explode bloodily.”

Additionally, the “threat and horror” details published clearly specify that Superman and Batman will come under the control of Starro. “There is moderate body horror when alien starfish erupt from victims’ mouths. Two young teenagers must fight their possessed parents.”

Starro first appeared in “The Brave and the Bold #28” (released January 31, 1960). Created by Gardner Fox and Mike Sekowsky, Starro is a mind-controlling starfish-like extraterrestrial being who uses smaller, parasitic clones of itself to control other beings.

While no exact release date has been announced as yet, “Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons” will have a running time of 79 minutes, and is expected to be released in late 2022.

The sons of Superman and Batman have been a concept that goes back in comic book form to the 1960s when college-aged heroes known as Superman Jr. and Batman Jr. appeared in “World’s Finest Comics #154”, with the “Super-Sons” first featured in 1973’s “World’s Finest Comics #215”.

In more recent years, fans have followed the adventures of the “Super Sons” in a number of comic book series, including 2017’s “Super Sons” 16-issue miniseries (plus an Annual), which was followed by the 12-issue “Adventures of the Super Sons”.
