Special Guests for 2018 Superman Celebration Announced

Five special guests for the 2018 Superman Celebration in Metropolis, Illinois have been announced.

Set to take place across June 7-10, this year is the Celebration’s 40th anniversary, and fans will not only celebrate Superman’s 80th year, but will commemorate the 40th anniversary of “Superman: The Movie” as well. The special guests announced are:

John Haymes Newton, star of the first season of the 1980s “Superboy” TV series, will participate in a special Superboy 30th Anniversary Q&A and meet fans on Saturday.

Aaron Smolinski, the actor who played baby Kal-El who crashed to earth in “Superman: The Movie”, who also went on to cameo in “Superman III” and “Man of Steel”, will be in attendance all weekend.

Jeff East, who portrayed teenaged Clark Kent in “Superman: The Movie” will be available to meet fans on Friday and Saturday and will take part in a special 40th Anniversary of “Superman: The Movie” Q&A.

Jack O’Halloran, who played Non, will be available to meet fans on Friday and Saturday and will also take part in a special 40th Anniversary of “Superman: The Movie” Q&A.

Also attending is producer Ilya Salkind, who (together with his father) was responsible for bringing Superman to the big screen in 1978.
