Shaq to Sell His $28 Million Superman-Themed Mansion

Shaquille O’Neal is selling his $28 million waterfront property in Florida, which has a Superman theme throughout.

According to MSN.com, O’Neal has owned the 12 bedroom and 15 bathroom estate located just outside of Orlando since 1993, when he bought it for just under $4 million.

A decade after O’Neal bought the mansion, it was featured on MTV Cribs, where the basketball great showed off his “master retreat,” a wing dedicated entirely to the master suite and outfitted with a huge walk-in closet, 900-square-foot bedroom and oversized Superman-themed bed.

The Superman theme shows up throughout the house, with the logo appearing on glass in the bathroom and mirrors in the 17-car “showroom-style” garage (the home also comes with a second garage, which contains a dance studio and recording studio, in addition to car space, according to its listing). On the waterfront deck, a life-size Superman statue gazes out over Lake Butler.

Below are just some of the photos featured.

Poor Clark won’t be able to buy something like this on a reporter’s salary. Maybe Bruce Wayne or Oliver Queen might be interested?!

Admittedly though, the Fortress of Solitude is priceless.

Purchased for under $4M and now selling it for $28M after 25 years. Nice return on investment Shaq!

Adjusting for inflation, Shaq bought it for $6.9 million in modern money. No way to know what he put into it in renovations. But I would imagine he is still making a profit.

Had I had the money, I would have certainly bought that. But the only thing that I have in mind though: how am I gonna clean this thing on a daily basis!?

Maybe that’s why Shaq is selling it.
