September 10, 2016: Meet the New Faces on “Supergirl”

160829-Season2Entertainment Weekly has published an article introducing fans to the new faces appearing in Season 2 of “Supergirl”. On the list are Superman (Tyler Hoechlin), President Olivia Marsdin (Lynda Carter), Mon-El (Chris Wood), Miss Martian (Sharon Leal), Snapper Carr (Ian Gomez), Lena Luthor (Katie McGrath), and Maggie Sawyer (Floriana Lima).

Here are a few of the entries…

Mon-El (Chris Wood)
The mysterious occupant of the pod, Mon-El hails from Krypton’s sister world. “The destruction of Krypton also resulted in a very bad day for Daxam – that’s how he escaped that cataclysm and came to Earth,” Kreisberg says. “He’s fresh off the boat. As far as he’s concerned, he got into a pod on Daxam on then the next day was on Earth.” Thus, Mon-El helps fulfill Kara’s original mission of looking out for Kal-El. “Now she has somebody to mentor,” he says. But the question is: Can he be trusted? “Can you trust anybody?” Kreisberg counters.

Miss Martian (Sharon Leal)
The red planet native helps J’onn J’onzz (David Harewood) embrace being the Martian Manhunter. “J’onn is suddenly going to have this connection to Mars that he’s been lacking for the last 300 years,” Kreisberg says. “He’s dealing with survivor’s guilt, and he’s spent the last few hundred years burying that. It’s only because of his interactions with Kara and his deepening relationship with Alex that he gets to start to tap back into that. The arrival of Miss Martian is really going to open the flood gates.”

All these articles and behind-the-scenes stuff is great, but I’m looking forward to a trailer, with all-new footage, that shows what to expect from season 2. I am so looking forward to the adventures, of Krypton’s last daughter, to continue! 🙂

I’m also looking forward to seeing the last son and daughter finally share scenes together without coy avoidances.
