Rutger Hauer Dies, Aged 75

Rutger Hauer, the actor probably best known for roles in films such as “Blade Runner,” “Batman Begins” and “Sin City,” has passed away, aged 75.

Hauer also had a connection to the world of Superman, having played the role of Morgan Edge in an episode of the TV series “Smallville”. As the leading crime lord in Metropolis, Hauer’s Morgan Edge was a childhood friend of Lionel Luthor’s, who, in the episode titled “Warrior Angel”, hires Clark Kent to steal a package from Luthor, kidnapping Martha and Jonathan Kent to force Clark to comply.

Reports are that Hauer passed away in his home in the Netherlands on July 19 after a short illness. Our condolences to his family and friends.

We’ve lost a great actor this week. Rutger was a very talented actor. His acting was great on the big screen as well as the small screen. My condolences to his family. May they find comfort in their time of loss, and May Rutger Rest In Peace.

A legend in his own right and a cultural icon on the small and big screen. 75 is still kind of young if you ask me. A personal favourite to many myself included. His roles has will always have an everlasting impression. Gone…but not forgotten. You will be missed and remembered Mr. Hauer.
