Comic book artist Carlos Pacheco passed away today (Wednesday, November 9) at the Línea de la Concepción Hospital of Cádiz in Spain. A week short of his 61st birthday.
Pacheco announced earlier this year that he was retiring from his work due to health problems, having been diagnosed with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease).
Just last week the Association of Comic Authors of Spain (AACE) recognized the career of Pacheco, who drew some of the industry’s most iconic superheroes, including Superman.
