DC RELEASES ACTION COMICS #1000 BONUS STORY FROM THE LEGENDARY TEAM OF LOUISE SIMONSON AND JERRY ORDWAY
Superman Creators Louise Simonson and Jerry Ordway Re-Team For A Superman Tribute “Five Minutes” In The Landmark Comic Book Issue, On-Sale April 18
Today, DC is giving fans another early glimpse of a bonus Superman story from the collection of tributes that will be featured in ACTION COMICS #1000th. In the five-page story “Five Minutes,” written by the acclaimed Louise Simonson (SUPERMAN: THE DEATH OF SUPERMAN) and featuring artwork from the iconic Jerry Ordway (SUPERMAN: THE MAN OF STEEL), as well as Dave McCaig (ACTION COMICS) and lettering by Carlos M. Mangual (NIGHTWING), the Man of Steel pushes himself to the limits as he tries to balance his superhero work and journalism career. Simonson and Ordway’s story joins the previously released tribute story “Of Tomorrow,” by Tom King and Clay Mann.
In celebration of the 80th anniversary of Superman and the 1,000th issue of ACTION COMICS, DC is releasing a special anniversary-sized issue that features stories by legendary creators like Dan Jurgens, Peter J. Tomasi, Pat Gleason and Marv Wolfman, plus the DC debut of Brian Michael Bendis, that celebrate the Man of Steel’s legacy. Fans can get their hands on this special, 80-page issue on April 18 for $7.99. For more information on ACTION COMICS #1000, visit http://www.dccomics.com/action1000 .
Ordway still got it. I love getting an equal dose of Daily Planet and Super heroics.
Bonus points for Bibbo.
I really enjoyed this story. The other five-pager we saw earlier was quite good, too. I’m getting more and more excited for #1000.
