Muhammad Ali - Black Superman

Did you know that Muhammad Ali used to refer to himself as the Black Superman?

There was even a song called "Black Superman-Muhammad Ali" by Johnny Wakelin & The Kinshasa Band. The main lyrics were:

Sing, Muhammad, Muhammad Ali
He floats like a butterfly and stings like a bee
Muhammad, the black superman
Who calls to the other guy I'm Ali catch me if you can.

Which brings to mind one fantastic story...

At the height of his fame, Muhammad Ali was settling into his plane seat when an air hostess came and gently reminded him to put on his seatbelt.

"Superman don't need no seatbelt", Ali snorted.

"Superman don't need no airplane", the hostess retorted, a winner by knockout.
