Patty Jenkins – I loved Richard Donner as person, and massively admired him as a director. To think he made The Omen, Superman, The Goonies and Lethal Weapon in just over 10 years time, and many more. Stunning. Truly one of the greatest American filmmakers of all time. He will be sorely missed.

Dan Jurgens – So sad to hear of Richard Donner’s passing. I will never forget sitting in the theater, watching the credits, knowing something special was coming. Pulled me into the movie and character both. And this is still one of the all time best movie ads ever.

Ande Parks – Operating in a pressure cooker of absurd studio and producer demands, Richard Donner made a Superman film that showed us all how comics’ most important icon could speak to the world in a voice of compassion and genuine heroism. Goodspeed, sir.

A fitting tribute from all of these actors, directors and celebrities to one of the world’s greatest directors. His movies has touched lives and inspires so many others to dream, and create stories of their own. Movies would have never achieved such greatness without him. Thank you Richard Donner. You made us all ”believe a man can fly”.
Richard Donner made MAGIC. I can’t put it any other way. Thank the gods of fate or whatever you believe in that he called Tom Mankiewicz to rewrite the screenplay, that Lynn Stalmaster kept suggesting Chris Reeve even when he was being overlooked and Donner listened, that Jerry Goldsmith (no disrespect to JG but JW nailed it) was no longer available to do the score and John Williams was due to filming delays – presumably because Donner was making sure he got all the footage he needed however long it took.
