October 3, 2016: Cameron Cuffe Cast as Lead Role in “Krypton” TV Series

cameroncuffeAccording to Deadline.com, little-known actor Cameron Cuffe has been cast to play the role of Seg-El in the “Krypton” TV series.

Described as athletic and quietly confident, Seg-El is the scion of the once-prosperous El family and is blessed with an intuitive brilliance for all things technical. He now is living in Krypton’s lowest caste after his family was stripped of its rank.

The London-born Cuffe is a graduate of the Lir Academy in Dublin. He has done several stage productions and appeared in the Stephen Frears-directed feature Florence Foster Jenkins. He also recurs on the upcoming ITV drama The Halcyon. Cuffe is repped by Gersh, Untitled Entertainment and the Artists Partnership.

“Krypton” will be produced by Warner Horizon Television. The pilot is written by David Goyer (Man of Steel) with Ian Goldberg (Once Upon A Time, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles). Goyer will executive produce through his company Phantom Four with Damian Kindler (Sleepy Hollow), who will serve as showrunner. Colm McCarthy (Peaky Blinders) will direct the pilot.

I don’t know how to feel about this series.

As a mini-series I might be interested. If it were not a Goyer project I’d be that much more interested. Past that we had 10 years of Smallville I’m pretty much done with “before Superman”. I want actual Superman.

Sounds awful. If you want to do a show about Krypton, must it resemble the hyper-realism of our own planet?

This show is like Gotham, Batman show with no Batman. I don’t want a Superman show with no Superman.

I for one would love a show about Krypton, reminds of those Tales of Krypton backups during the Bronze Age. My problem is that Goyer’s in charge of this production.

Might be too early, but I hope we see Nimda An-Dor, Seg-El’s wife and Superman’s grandmother, in this series…

If it ties into the DCEU I would be interested in it. But I’m still not sure if I would watch it. I honestly don’t know how long I would last watching a show about Superman’s grandfather lol…. I mean you won’t even get the current villains. No Superpowers either… I just don’t know.
