October 17, 2016: Tyler Hoechlin Thanks Fans For Embracing His Superman

In a new episode of “DC All Access” Tyler Hoechlin talks about tonight’s episode of “Supergirl”, the relationship between Superman and Hank Henshaw, and what it’s like to fly.

In an extended clip from the above interview, exclusive to ComicBookResources.com, Tyler talks about the fan reaction to his version of Superman.

“It’s one of those things going into it where I knew that there would always be strong opinions,” said Hoechlin in the exclusive clip. “He’s a character that been around a long time and everyone has a pre-existing idea of what they want it to be, what it should be to them. So that’s just kind of something you accept. We, again had things that we found interesting and that’s something we committed to and at the end of the day that’s a nice thing as an actor because you know if people enjoy it, then great. They enjoyed your vision of it and what you kind of liked about it as well. If they don’t like it then at least you missed with your own intention. It sucks when you try something that you think maybe isn’t the right thing but maybe someone else will think is right, and then it still misses. Because then you might as well have at least tried it your way.”

Tonight’s episode of “Supergirl” is titled “The Last Children of Krypton”, and is scheduled to air on The CW in the USA at 8.00pm ET/PT.

If the season premiere is any indication, he makes a great Superman! It’s nice to see that the producers of these shows understand how to make a great relatable show AND stay true to the comics. (I say shows because Flash embraces its comic book roots very well too.)
If only the movies understood that Superman doesn’t need to be dark and brooding to be relatable to an audience.
Here’s hoping fan support will show WB that people prefer our Superman in a more traditional way… And maybe we can even get another spinoff show on the CW!!!

Last nights episode was great. From what I’ve seen so far the move to the CW has not diminished the quality of the stories and especially the quality of special effects. They have done an excellent job and I don’t think for TV we could ask for anything better. Very well done CW!

For me this series’ Clark is a little too goofy but not that much to dislike him in any way. Not as great as Lois & Clark:TNAOS but quite close. I didn’t have seen such a great Clark since Dean Cain’s version, even though I’m a great Smallville fan but Dean was the real Clark. Tyler is Kent too but not that much, then he puts on Superman’s suit and he becomes Superman. And I mean SUPERMAN. So good that you completely forget the (partly) weird suit design. Congratulations to Tyler, he nailed it. WB should have done this in… Read more »
