Earlier this year, even before the release of “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice”, the Twitter account DCEUfacts pointed out that the theme music for Lex Luthor (heard in the movie “Man of Steel”) was a distorted version of the theme music created for Superman.
The idea was that Lex, in a perverted way, thinks of himself as the true hero of the story… and therefore his own theme music was a perverted version of the hero theme created for the Man of Steel.
Composer JunkieXL recently confirmed the accuracy of this theory…

I hope junkie XL does not come back for anymore DC movies. He is such an overrated hack. To call him a ‘composer’ is an overstatement because all of his material sounds almost identical. I’m worried that if Hans doesn’t come back that they’re going to hand over the reigns to him, especially since his schedule just opened up after leaving Deadpool 2.
I… uhm… thought it was obvious?
I hadn’t noticed at all. How very interesting. I liked Jesse’s Lex. He reminded me of both the Golden Age version and the Birthright version. Just younger…
