GQ recently conducted an interview with actor Nicolas Cage in which he appeared on camera responding to fan questions from Reddit.
As Superman fans know, back in the 1990s Nicholas Cage was set to play the Man of Steel in the never-made film “Superman Lives” by director Tim Burton.
While he held out hope for many years to still play the Man of Steel one day, Nicolas Cage was finally able to fulfill that dream when he voiced the role of Superman in the animated movie “Teen Titans GO! To The Movies”.
But one particular fan questioned Cage about “Superman Lives” during the Reddit interview, asking, “In 1997 Tim Burton wanted to make a Superman movie starring Nicolas Cage. Why can’t they just make this now?”
Cage replied, “Would it matter how much time I appeared as the character? There might still be a chance.”
While it seems obvious to most people that Cage is poking fun, many people are taking his comments seriously, postulating that Cage is hinting at a cameo appearance in the upcoming movie “The Flash,” which is known to have heroes from across the Multiverse as part of the film.
I guess we’ll find out for sure when “The Flash” speeds into theaters on June 23, 2023.
If there is a possibility that Cage will appear as a version of Superman, is there a chance that we will see Brandon Routh back as Superman as well? Why not do a Superman multiverse trilogy where Routh,Cavill, Hoechlin, and Cage team up as their versions of Superman to battle the Kingdom Come supervillian Gog? Or how about the supervillian Superdoom, or earth three’s Alexander Luthor Jr who has super powers of matter and antimatter capability and energy blast projections and can travel through demension portals? Certainly Alex Jr would make for an excellent antagonist in a multiverse Superman film.… Read more »
