March 25, 2020: The CW Announces "Supergirl" Episode Delay

With the coronavirus epidemic impacting every walk of life, television studios have also been affected, with production on "Supergirl" having halted last week. While cast members have indicated via social media that they had filmed most of Season 5 before production was stopped, post-production has obviously also been impacted by these stoppages. The CW announced today that the "Supergirl" episode titled "Deus Lex Machina", which was scheduled to air on Sunday, March 29, will now air at a later today. Instead, The CW will show a repeat of "Back From The Future - Part Two" in its place.

Exactly when we will see new episodes of "Supergirl" is unknown at this point in time.

In "Deus Lex Machina", the seventeenth episode of Season 5 of "Supergirl," which is also Melissa Benoist's directorial debut, Lex (guest star Jon Cryer) proceeds to lay an intricate plan to bring Lena (Katie McGrath) closer to him, defeat Leviathan's latest attack, and pit Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and team against Leviathan. It is also revealed how Lex came into power after Crisis.

Melissa Benoist directed the episode with story by Lindsay Sturman and teleplay by Katie Rose Rogers & Brooke Pohl.
