October 30, 2019: What Does HBO Max Mean for DC Universe Subscribers?

With yesterday's launch announcement for the new HBO Max digital streaming service in May 2020, subscribers of the DC Universe service were left wondering whether or not they'd be left behind or end up paying for a service that would be made redundant or obsolete.

An official statement was published on the DC Universe website, explaining to subscribers that DC Universe was here to stay for the foreseeable future...

"Our WarnerMedia partners made some exciting news today, and we're psyched! We also want to assure you that DC Universe is still going strong with an exciting year of super-fan service coming through this year and next. From our original programming, library of beloved series, ever-expanding comic library, real world events, and our just launched all-new Community, we're just getting started."

The statement goes on to remind fans of the recently announced new features including "DCYOU: Unscripted" (fan developed shows that might premiere on DC Universe next year) and "Bizarro TV" (an animated anthology), along with both "Harley Quinn Animated" and "Doom Patrol" Season 2.

While DC Universe and HBO Max will overlap in many areas, with both containing the library of DC Comics movies, DC Universe's big draw card is the massive library of comic book material available.
