July 4, 2019: Jerry Ordway Calls for Blu-ray Release of Snyder Cut of "Justice League"

Long-time Superman comic book artist Jerry Ordway has reacted to the release of a fan-made opening to the "Justice League" movie, calling for Warner Bros. Entertainment to release the infamous "Snyder Cut" of the film to be released on Blu-ray.

Posted by the DCU Movie Page YouTube channel, the 3 minute, 46 second video is a fan's reimagining of the opening scene of "Justice League", using some footage never included in the theatrical cut of the film.

As you'll recall, director Zack Snyder was forced to stand down before completing the film, due to the untimely death of his daughter. Joss Whedon was brought in to finish off the film, reshooting many scenes and making a number of changes to the script. Knowing Snyder's version would have been much different to what we saw, the "Release the Snyder Cut" movement has gained support from various quarters, with Ordway adding his own voice to the cause via Twitter.

"I sure would like to see a Blu-ray of this cut of the film. What does [Warner Bros. Entertainment have] to lose? I certainly appreciate the re-creation of Richard Donner's Superman 2, so why not Zach Snyder's Justice League?"

"I've always supported the idea, since it was revealed Snyder had a rough cut with a score," he continued via Twitter. "What is there to lose, now that the execs in charge have changed? AT&T wants to make money, so let [Warner Archive] release it!"
