September 18, 2018: Sarah Smyth Joins "Supergirl" Cast for Season 4

The CW has announced that Sarah Smyth, who has appeared in "50/50", "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief", and "Lockdown", has been cast in the role of Lydia Lockwood for Season 4 of "Supergirl".

Lydia Lockwood, is the mother of Ben Lockwood set to be played by Sam Witwer. As we've reported earlier, Witwer (who played David Bloom on "Smallville") has been cast to play the role of Ben Lockwood, aka Agent Liberty. Xander Berkeley will be playing Lydia's husband, Peter Lockwood.

While Peter Lockwood is described as "a middle-class factory owner struggling to make ends meet in a world that's rapidly changing due to the rise of aliens from outer space living amongst us. A proud and single-minded, a family man who's dedicated his life providing for people. The seeds of his discontent sows the beginning of an anti-alien wave." It is unknown at this point in time whether his wife will share his opinions and join him in his crusade.

Season 4 of "Supergirl" will premiere on The CW on Sunday, October 14 at 8.00pm.
