June 9, 2018: Day 3 of the 2018 Superman Celebration in Metropolis, Illinois

The third day of the Superman Celebration, Saturday, is easily the biggest day of the 4-day festival, with the Featured Guests in attendance.

I made my way up to the building, known at the Celebration as Kandor, where fans were lining up to meet Brandon Routh, Blake Ritson and Shaun Sipos, get an autograph, photo or both. You can see my autographed poster below...

I also managed to wrangle our own exclusive video interview with the very funny duo of "Krypton" stars Shaun Sipos and Blake Ritson, which I'll be posting shortly.

Brandon's Q&A in the Metro tent was proceeded by a photo opportunity in front of the giant Superman Statue... with his wonderful parents.

After lunch (after many back and forth emails with his manager) my scheduled video interview with Brandon Routh took place. Brandon (with his parents in the room with him) gave us a very generous 10 minutes of his time, remembering that we'd met one another back in 2005 when I was lucky enough to visit the set of "Superman Returns" in Sydney. Again, I'll be posting that video interview when I get a chance to edit and upload it to our YouTube channel.

Unfortunately I missed the Q&A with Shaun Sipos and Blake Ritson and the one with John Haymes Newton (I was busy with Brandon at the time). But I'm sure I know my good friend and Superman Homepage helper Ken Sills recorded at least one of them. I'll post them when I get time.

There were a couple of auctions people had been waiting for, and the one inside the Happy Hearts building was of special interest as it included the one-of-a-kind Dan Jurgens sketch on the blank variant "Action Comics #1000" cover. The book's new owner is now Superman Homepage member (and our unofficial Celebration photographer) Douglas Meacham, whose remained smiling proudly for the rest of the day.

Another Superman Homepage helper, Jamie Kelley took to the stage later in the day, entertaining the crowd with his band. Talk about a talented guy!

There was so much going on at other locations, like a screening of "Superman: The Movie," a Supergirl and Superboy pageant, a screening of the fan film "Superman: World War," and more. It's almost impossible to squeeze in everything!

All in all it was a super day! Three down, one to go.
