October 10, 2016: Additional Cast Members Added to "Krypton" TV Pilot

According to Deadline.com, additional cast members have been added to the Syfy pilot "Krypton".

Val-El: Ian McElhinney (Game of Thrones) has been cast to play the role of Val-El, who is the grandfather of the main character, Seg-El. Val-El is described as "a rogue genius who believes that space exploration is a basic form of self-defense." He has tried unsuccessfully to warn the Krypton's ruling elite about the arrival of an ancient threat.

Daron Vex: Elliot Cowan (Da Vinci's Demons) will play Daron Vex, the Chief Magistrate of Kandor, whose real business is "defending Krypton's established oligarchy against heretics and dissidents."

Primus Alura Zod: Ann Ogbomo (World War Z) will play Primus Zod Alura, mother to Lyta Zod and a leader of Krypton's military guild. "She is an extremely tough and demanding training officer."

Kem: Rasmus Hardiker (Your Highness) has been cast to play the role of rankless Kem, a brilliant engineer as well as Seg-El's best friend and partner in an underground tech-repair business.

Nyssa Vex: Wallis Day (The Royals) will play the role of Nyssa Vex. Nyssa is a junior magistrate and the daughter of Daron Vex.

Dev-Em: Aaron Pierre (Tennison) is Dev-Em, a cadet under the command of Primus Alura Zod.

"Krypton" will be produced by Warner Horizon Television. The pilot is written by David Goyer (Man of Steel) with Ian Goldberg (Once Upon A Time, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles). Goyer will executive produce through his company Phantom Four with Damian Kindler (Sleepy Hollow), who will serve as showrunner. Colm McCarthy (Peaky Blinders) will direct the pilot.
