April 8, 2016: Our Exclusive Interview with Dan Jurgens

Superman Homepage reporter T.A. Ewart sat down for chat with DC Comics writer Dan Jurgens to talk to him about "Superman: Lois and Clark", the upcoming "Rebirth" event, and what fans can expect from the pre-Flashpoint Superman we'll be reading about in "Action Comics"...

Action Comics #957 With Dan Jurgens set to take charge of "Action Comics" with June's issue #957, kicking off the new "Rebirth" era of the DC Universe, he explains how his book will fit in with the other Superman family titles and characters...

"On the other Superman title, with what Pete Tomasi and Pat Gleason are doing, because they're co-writing the book, that we have certainly talked and said, while we aren't necessarily going to continue from issue to issue across the series, sort of like we did back in the day with the Triangle Numbers, what we wanted to make sure of is that our worlds reflect each other. That our stories reflect consistent characterisation for these people. So, they might be telling one story with Superman. I'll be telling another story. But if you look at the supporting cast, the way that these characters exist, their intent and purpose, I think it's all going to be all tight and reflective of it being the same character."

"One of the things that should be noted is that we've certainly sat in a room together, myself, Pete Tomasi and Steve Orlando who is writing Supergirl, Phil Jimenez who is writing Superwoman, and talked about the idea that there's a place for all the characters to fit together and coexist. And so I think that's very important, especially for Superman and Supergirl. I think that even though these two might not be directly related, in the sense that for now they're from different universes. I think that the sensibility would still be there, especially on the part of Clark who would see her as a relative and as his younger cousin."

The Superman Homepage would like to thank Dan Jurgens for fitting us in to his busy schedule to participate in this half-hour interview.
