January 11, 2016: First Look - Cover Art for "Adventures of Supergirl #1"
The Hollywood Reporter gives us our first look at the cover artwork for "Adventures of Supergirl #1" by Cat Staggs.Sterling Gates will be the writer helming the series, and will be joined by various artists, who will each take on individual issues. Artists involved include Bengal, Jonboy Meyers, Emanuela Lupacchino, and Emma Vieceli. Bengal will be penciling, inking, and coloring the interiors of the first three chapters.
- "I am beyond thrilled to be writing Supergirl again," writer Sterling Gates - whose 2008-2011 run on the DC Entertainment character was both critically acclaimed and source material for elements of the CBS show - told THR about the project. "Supergirl is one of my all-time favorite characters - I think she's one of DC's best characters, period - and I was extremely honored when DC Comics and the producers of CBS' hit television show asked me to write Adventures of Supergirl."
Gates continued, "Greg Berlanti, Ali Adler and Andrew Kreisberg have created a unique and frankly brilliant take on Kara 'Supergirl' Danvers, and our comic will be an extension of their fantastic world. Fans of the show can expect to see all their favorite Supergirl characters play a role in our massively action-packed 13-part story exploring the various facets of Supergirl's life!"
The first digital comic book of the "Adventures of Supergirl" will be available for download on January 25.
The "Supergirl: Digital-First Vol. 1" Trade Paperback will be released on August 9, 2016. You can pre-order the Trade Paperback collection via our Online Store.
