December 12, 2015: DC Bombshells Power Girl and Superman Statue

Power Girl and Superman DC Collectibles has given us a first look at the upcoming DC Bombshells Power Girl and Superman statue.

DC Collectibles' DC Bombshell line of statues reimagined the DC heroines and villainesses through the lens of an alternate timeline in which the female characters were on the frontlines of World War II in dramatically different outfits. The statues proved so popular that DC's Bombshells were even given their own comic book series. But there hasn't been a male hero in the Bombshells line...until now.

Superman is joining the Bombshells statue line alongside Power Girl. The DC Comics Bombshells Power Girl and Superman features a very retro take on the Man of Steel and his cousin. Superman looks like a circus strongman and he's got a handlebar mustache. The Superman "S" on his chest even resembles the symbol that he wore in his Golden Age adventures.

But it's clear that Power Girl is the main attraction of their two-person act. The Girl of Steel is holding her cousin with ease. And while Power Girl's costume has also been redesigned to fit the Bombshells line, it should look very familiar to fans of her character.

Standing at 14 inches tall, the resin DC Bombshells Power Girl and Superman statue was designed by Ant Lucia and sculpted by Jack Mathews. Limited to just 5,200 editions, this statue will retail for US$250 and be released in July 2016.

We'll let you know when it's available to pre-order.
