June 2, 2014: Superman Celebration Hosts Super Pow Bam Bash!
The Super Pow! Bam! BashSaturday, June 14th, 8 PM - 11 PM
At the Baymont Theater
Admission: $20
Get ready for an evening of fun and dancing, and it's all for a great cause!
- The Metropolis Chamber of Commerce is proud to present the First Annual Super Pow! Bam! Bash, with an auction and raffle to benefit Save The Massac, the organization dedicated to the preservation and restoration of the Massac Theatre in downtown Metropolis.
Come dressed as your favorite Superhero, in formal attire, or just come as you are! We'll have a DJ on hand for dancing, a cash bar will be available thanks to the Metropolis Elks, and hors d'oeuvres will be served. And attendees will have the chance to buy chance raffle tickets and stuff the bag of any number of cool items they want to win. The more tickets you buy, the better your odds of winning!
At 9 PM we'll start the Auction, where many special items will be up for bids, including one amazing package: The "SUPER Celebration Weekend 2015" which includes: Hotel for 3 nights at Superman Celebration, Gift certificates for area restaurants, 2 VIP Autograph Session Passes, Front of the Line Passes for all Autograph Sessions, 2 Reserved front row seats at all Guest Q & A's and the $1000 Costume Contest, 2 Celebration T-shirts as well as other official 2015 Superman Celebration merchandise, and $100 of Metro Dollars! This entire package is worth almost $1000!! 100% of the proceeds from the Auction and the raffle will go to Save the Massac.
Continuing the tradition begun by Jim Hambrick, founder of the Super Museum, the Metropolis Chamber of Commerce and the Superman Celebration Co-Chairpersons will present the George and Noel Awards, honoring two dedicated and deserving individuals.
After the conclusion of the Auction, we'll resume the dancing and fun!
Costumes and/or formal attire are encouraged but not at all required! Come as you are if you desire!
But we're not done!... The first 125 people who purchase advance tickets will receive a commemorative Super Pow! Bam! Bash Hurricane glass.
NOTE: If you would like to donate items to the raffle or auction, contact the Metropolis Chamber of Commerce. Items are still being accepted for this great cause, and tax receipts can be given if requested.
