February 5, 2014: Earliest Superman Cover Art to Sell at Auction

Cover artwork for "Action Comics #15" is set to be auctioned off in the latest Vintage Comics & Comic Art Signature Auction at Heritage Auctions in New York this month.

Artist Fred Guardineer's image of the Man of Steel from "Action Comics #15" is the earliest Superman cover art known to exist, and is expected to fetch over US$200,000 when it goes under the hammer starting February 20.

The artwork will be available for viewing from Wednesday, February 19 at the Ukrainian Institute of America at The Fletcher-Sinclair Mansion at 2 East 79th Street, New York, NY.
