September 17, 2014: Tom Taylor Talks "Injustice: Year Three"

Injustice: Year Two - Chapter #24 With the digital release of "Injustice: Year Two - Chapter #24" out this week, writer Tom Taylor wraps up the second year of "Injustice: Gods Among Us", but will push right in to Year Three with no delay, with Chapter 1 of the new volume kicking off September 30.

IGN.com caught up with Tom to find out where things are at with the comic book series, and what fans can expect from "Regime Superman". Here's part of the interview...

We saw Superman avoid defeat by accepting a Sinestro Corps ring. Will he continue to wield that ring in Year Three? Does its influence play a part in his continual evolution from hero to the tyrant we saw in the game?

Taylor: I can't say too much on this but yes, he will be wearing the Yellow Ring when you see him next, and its power and Sinestro's influence will still be warping him. But someone is coming to change all of this...

Batman's forces didn't defeat Superman's regime, but they did at least score a moral victory in terms of exposing Superman's actions to the world. How will that play out during Year Three? Is there a growing sense of unrest in the world?

Taylor: Absolutely. Thanks to Black Canary, the world has seen the truth. The Man of Steel is someone to be feared now.

Batman tried to defeat Superman through sheer force and failed. Is that why he turns to John Constantine and the magical realm for help in Year Three?

Taylor: Batman and his team did pull off a lot of victories in Year Two. They dealt some pretty big blows to Superman's regime. But Superman is still standing. John Constantine knows that, short of a swift kick to the bollocks with big, sturdy Kryptonite boots, Superman's main vulnerability is magic.
