January 16, 2014: Supergirl to Join New "Justice League United"

Justice League United USA Today reports on a new Justice League comic book set to kick off in April titled "Justice League United", written by Jeff Lemire.

DC Comics' Justice League of America series ends in April, and then later in the month Lemire relaunches it as Justice League United with a zero issue and a diverse superhero team that will split its time between Northern Ontario and cosmic locales.

"It keeps the book fresh when you have those two very different settings or landscapes to go between," says Lemire, who's working with artist Mike McKone on the new effort.

"It's very much a swashbuckling, world-jumping space adventure."

Supergirl and Animal Man will join former JLA members Stargirl, Martian Manhunter, Hawkman and Green Arrow, along with a reintroduced Adam Strange.

In other comic book news, BleedingCool.com report that artist Tony S. Daniel will leave "Superman/Wonder Woman" to relaunch a new "Teen Titans", with the current "Teen Titans" book by Scott Lobdell to be cancelled. No word yet who might be taking over the artistic duties on "Superman/Wonder Woman". Stay tuned!

Update: Tony Daniel denied the rumor about him leaving "Superman/Wonder Woman" on Twitter, stating, "No plans for me to move from Superman/Wonder Woman. I am skipping #7 to get ahead on #8 however."
