Lou Scheimer Lou Scheimer, Emmy award-winning co-founder of the cartoon company Filmation, died on Thursday, aged 84.

Scheimer's and his company will best be remembered by Superman fans for the 1966 "The New Adventures of Superman" cartoons, which was followed by "The Superman Aquaman Hour of Adventure" and "The Batman/Superman Hour".

Along with business partner Norm Prescott, Scheimer (a producer, composer and voice actor) formed Filmation in 1962, which (along with the Superman shows) would be responsible for many Saturday morning cartoons such as "He-Man and the Masters of the Universe", "She-Ra: Princess of Power", "Star Trek: The Animated Series", "Ghostbusters", and many others.

Our condolences to his family and friends.
