August 14, 2013: More Batman and Lex Luthor Casting Rumors

Bryan Cranston At the moment you just have to wait a few days and new sets of casting rumors for the upcoming sequel to "Man of Steel" begin to circulate.

This time around people are speculating that Warner Bros. are offering Christian Bale big money to reprise his role as the Dark Knight. However the rumor's origins actually come from a book titled "Beyond Batman: The Unauthorised True Story of Christian Bale and His Dark Knight Dilemma" in which the author says, "Why would Christian Bale walk away from what is certainly going to be either the first or second highest grossing movie in the history of cinema?" and then goes on to speculate, "He could probably make 50 million dollars for being in the movie 20 minutes. And it would be worth every penny to the studio."

Warner Bros. may well have offered Bale a huge sum of money to come back to the role, but now you know where the $50 million rumor started. Funny how nobody's been talking about the part where he'd only be "in the movie 20 minutes". I like that bit more myself.

On the back of the rumor about Mark Strong being considered for the role of Lex Luthor, "Breaking Bad" actor Bryan Cranston has also put up his hand for the part, telling film bosses to "give me a call" adding, "I like Lex Luthor. I think he's misunderstood. He's a loveable, sweet man."

Meanwhile, Legendary Pictures has decided not to be involved in this new movie, preferring instead to take a stake in Christopher Nolan's upcoming film "Interstellar".
