May 13, 2013: Nokia Launches "Man of Steel" Lumia App

Nokia has released an official "Man of Steel" app for its Nokia Lumia running Windows Phone 8.

The Man of Steel app brings movie assets such as wallpapers and character information plus a fun interactive experience that lets you take flight. Also, you can unlock DC Comics and access an augmented reality play.

The official Man of Steel app will make Man of Steel movie fans happy as the app lets you find where in your area the film is playing, powered by HERE Maps. Want to buy movie tickets right within the app? Fans in the US and UK can access MovieTickets.com to purchase and also in the US, fans can access Fandango.

For those that can't wait for Man of Steel to hit theatres, you can keep tabs with the apps' countdown timer.

All the Man of Steel movie trailers are included as well, along with biographies on all the stars in the film. If you want to check out the backstory to Man of Steel and see info on the filming locations - you can check this out as well, along with Buzz displays tweets filtered to show those related to Man of Steel.

Beat challenges and unlock rewards

For those who love a good thrill, we've included four chapters of with 40 challenges that are played to reveal more than 40 awesome rewards that are sure to please. When you master the challenges, you can unlock Man of Steel wallpapers, ringtones and even new DC Comic books.

Looking at the comics, we've included the opportunity to read 4 full-length issues of Superman Origins by DC Comics. Simply beat the challenges to unlock the issues!

As a part of the challenges in the app, you can use your Lumia's camera to take a photo of your favorite background and you can super-impose the Man of Steel on them then share the resulting picture with your friends. In another challenge, you can fight against time to destroy objects with your superpowers - all in an augmented reality view.

Share your accomplishments!

Using the share menu on your Lumia, you can let your friends know as you unlock rewards and photos created in the Man of Steel application, and you can do this over text messaging or on social networks.
