August 15, 2012: Payne's Toys and Comics Open for Business in Plano
During filming for "Man of Steel" in Plano, Illinois, the set builders turned an empty building into a Smallville toy store called "Payne's Toys and Comics". The store front was left just as it will be seen in the movie once filming ended. Now, Superman fan and collector Jamie Reigle has rented that same store, turning it into a real shop that actually sells Superman toys and collectibles.During the "Smallville SuperFest" taking place in Plano this weekend (August 17-19) "Payne's Toys and Comics" will be giving away a ton of items from actors, writers, and suppliers to be raffled off. All weekend, about every hour, shoppers can get tickets in the store, while looking through hundreds and hundreds of different licensed Superman products for sale in their air conditioned store.
Here's your chance to say, "I was there!" when you see "Payne's Toys and Comics" on the big screen.
