July 30, 2012: Twelve Riders Get Stuck on New Superman Rollercoaster

Superman Ultimate Flight The recently opened "Superman: Ultimate Flight" rollercoaster at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo got stuck yesterday, trapping a dozen riders at the top of the 150 foot ride.

Six Flags spokeswoman Nancy Chan confirmed to ABC7 News that the Superman ride got stuck at 2:30 p.m. She said the two-car ride holds 12 people total, but didn't know how many people were stranded. Rescue crews brought in a crane, but it was too short so they had to bring in a second crane.

The ride got stuck at the tallest point in the ride. The people were stuck sitting upright and not upside down.
