June 5, 2012: Super-Con 2012 at Superman Celebration
For the sixth straight year, Kevin Stewart Promotions will put on a "Super Con" during the Superman Celebration June 7-10 in Metropolis, IL.The Super Con features eight vendors filling about 25 tables with Superman and superhero-related collectibles, as well as other collectibles spanning several fields of fan and collecting interests.
The Super Con is at 718 Market Street, across from the Artist Alley and Thor's Gym, and next to the Man of Steel Exhibit Area and the Lois Lane statue. The event is free and open to the public. On Saturday, free comic books will be available for children 12 or younger.
The Super Con hours are 9 am to 6 pm both Friday, June 8 and Saturday June 9. The Super Con will continue on Sunday, June 10, opening at 9 am and closing approximately at 3 pm, or after the end of the popular Superman Celebration Costume Contest.

This year's vendors include Scott Thorne of Castle Perilous Games of Carbondale, IL; Scott Reed of Burg Comics in Harrisburg, IL, carrying comics, Heroclix, and original art; promoter Kevin Stewart of Paducah, KY and his Superman memorabilia 1950s to present; 20th Century Legends of Kansas City carrying the Vandor collectibles line of icons like Elvis and Marilyn; action figure specialists Sheila Moore of Paducah and Charlie Lampert of Rosiclaire, IL; and Crash Comics and Purcell's Collectibles, both of Paducah.
