National Contest Winner's Pets Featured in Latest DC Super-Pets Book Eisner Award-Winner Art Baltazar Illustrates New Book

Capstone, a leading publisher of children's books and digital products and services, announces the publication of its highly anticipated new chapter book, The Amazing Mini-Mutts, which stars the pets of its nationwide student writing contest winner Cloey Nyberg.

Cloey, now a fourth grader at Pyrtle Elementary School in Lincoln, Neb., was selected from more than 450 national entries. Cloey's fictional characters, Luna Moon (a Beagle with super-sniffing talents) and Sprightly Steve (a Pomeranian/Chihuahua with lightning speed), are featured characters in The Amazing Mini-Mutts, illustrated by Eisner Award-winning comic book artist Art Baltazar.

"We were so impressed with Cloey's fun and well-written story. She's an exceptionally talented kid and we're thrilled for readers to meet Luna Moon and Sprightly Steve in this exciting, new adventure," said Michael Dahl, Editorial Director of Capstone Fiction.

In The Amazing Mini-Mutts, Luna Moon and Sprightly Steve join the courageous Super-Pets, Krypto the Super-Dog and Ace the Bat-Hound, at the Bowwow Boot Camp, a school for up-and-coming pups with powers. They're ready to show this new breed of heroes a few old tricks. Unfortunately, Brainicat, an evil cyborg kitty from the planet Colu, wants to teach these canine cadets a lesson as well.

The "My Pet is Super!" contest asked children to write an article for the world's most famous imaginary newspaper, The Daily Planet, about why their own pet is super. Cloey will receive the original illustration of her characters as well as copies of the new book.
