December 21, 2011: Superheroes Plunge into Icy Water for Special Olympics

Polar Plunge Over 1,200 people took a dive into the icy waters of Goose Lake in Anchorage, Alaska for the 2011 Polar Plunge, a fundraising effort to raise money for the Special Olympics Alaska.

The Frigid Aires team dressed up as Superman and Supergirl to fly into the hole in the ice for the event held on Saturday, December 17, which raised more than $300,000 to help Special Olympics Alaska.
