Smallville - Season 9

January 30, 2010: "Smallville" Defeats "Dollhouse" Finale in Ratings

According to Zap2It.com, the first "Smallville" episode for 2010 "Disciple" beat out Fox's "Dollhouse" finale in the ratings on Friday night.

FOX's "Dollhouse" series made its final goodbyes to even more lackluster ratings, performing worse than The CW's "Smallville" in the same hour.

It's not a glowing report by any means, but after a two month break "Smallville" returned with better numbers than it left 2009 with. I'm assuming next week's 2-hour "Absolute Justice" event will improve the ratings even further.

    Friday hour by hour:

    8 p.m.

CBS: "Ghost Whisperer" (8.3 million viewers, 5.1/9 households)
    NBC: "Law & Order" (6.8 million, 4.4/8)
    ABC: "Supernanny" (4.7 million, 3.0/5)
The CW: "Smallville" (2.5 million, 1.6/3)
FOX: "Dollhouse" finale (2.2 million, 1.4/2)

    9 p.m.

    CBS: "Medium" (8.0 million, 5.0/9)
    NBC: "Dateline" (7.3 million, 5.0/9)
ABC: "Shark Tank" (4.4 million, 2.7/5)
FOX: "Kitchen Nightmares" (3.3 million, 2.0/3)
The CW: "Smallville" rerun (1.5 million, 0.9/2)
