June 24, 2010: Sterling Gates Talks "Supergirl #53" and Beyond

Supergirl #53 DC's "The Source" spoke with writer Sterling Gates to see where things are at with Supergirl and what we can expect from the up-coming BizarroGirl story line...

"Supergirl will discover that no matter how hard we try to run from our problems, our lives make other plans for us. While Supergirl struggles with her inner demons, a strange and twisted version of herself appears in Metropolis: BIZARRO-GIRL! Bizarro-Girl will take Kara on a terrible journey across dark regions of space, eventually leading back to Bizarro World. There, Supergirl confronts an enemy that threatens not only to wipe Bizarro World out of existence, but every other populated planet in the galaxy, too! Will Supergirl be able to stop it in time?"

ComicBookResources.com also spoke with Sterling Gates about Supergirl. Here's a portion of the interview where he talks about her secret identity of Linda Lang...

There's a line in "Supergirl Annual" #1 where the Science Police are questioning Linda Lang and they ask her what she does with her life. She doesn't have an answer. Her narration caption that panel says, "Wow. I really, really need to work on this secret identity thing." And it's true, she does. [Laughs] The secret identity stuff got shuffled around a bit, but we're going to really dig in and develop it. You'll see it start in "Supergirl" issue #53, but you'll really see it rear up in a big way in November. I can't say much about where we're going with it, though. Not yet, at least.
