December 11, 2009: "Smallville" Expands Studio Space

YVR Film, the production database for the Vancouver area, noted via their Twitter page that Warner Bros. has purchased additional buildings to expand their filming space for "Smallville".

Smallville has purchased more surrounding buildings to expand their Burnaby studio space.

It's being speculated that this additional purchase is the best evidence yet that the series is likely to go into a 10th season, with the studio unlikely to make an investment in extra space mid-way through Season 9 unless they were looking to the future.

YVR Film also indicated that production on "Smallville" will take a holiday break from December 19th, returning to work in the new year on January 4, 2010.

Speaking of Twitter announcements, actress Mireille Urumuri posted a tweet indicating that she'll be making an appearance in Season 9 of "Smallville" in a as-yet unknown role that she'll begin shooting when "Smallville" returns to work in January.
