May 21, 2009: "Smallville" to Move to Friday Night
Reports on various entertainment news sites indicate that The CW is set to announce that "Smallville" will move to Friday nights at 8.00pm to make way for a new TV drama called "Vampire Diaries"."Vampire Diaries" is a new drama about a teenage girl in a love triangle with two vampire brothers.
"Vampire Diaries" is set to take the Thursday 8.00pm slot from "Smallville" to team up with "Supernatural". "Smallville" will be aired on Fridays before "America's Next Top Model".
Update: The CW made it official today, announcing their Fall line-up with this paragraph from their press release regarding the move for "Smallville"...
- Big changes are in store on Fridays when SMALLVILLE relocates to the 8:00-9:00 p.m. hour, bringing young viewers from Thursday into Friday nights. With non-stop action and classic DC Comics characters from Lois Lane to Doomsday, SMALLVILLE continues to give loyal viewers the stories and characters they love.
